The Obstetric Edition

Course Outline

Rapid Refreshers are short courses designed with Emergency Physician SMO CME and skills in mind.

The Obstetric Edition is a 4-hour course designed to refresh skills in Obstetrics for Emergency Physicians. This course is run by the Tauranga Hospital.

Led by an Obstetrician and Midwife Educator, this short course will cover three major areas of Obstetrics in the Emergency Department:

1. Management of the precipitous Emergency Department delivery

2. Management of massive PPH

3. Maternal resuscitation and the rescuscitative hysterotomy

Objectives

1. Refresh skills in management of major areas of Obstetric care in the Emergency Department

2. Team building

3. Strengthening bonds with other specialities within the hospital
