Ultrasound 2.0
Prerequisite course required: Introduction to Ultrasound (or equivalent)
Overview
This is a one-day course suitable for practitioners with some experience in ultrasound. Prior attendance at a basic/introductory level ultrasound course is mandatory*.
It provides an opportunity to refresh basic scanning techniques and introduces some further uses for ultrasound in the Emergency Department.
The day comprises a mix of talks interspersed with practical skills stations. There will be a total of 4 hours of hands-on scanning with expert tutors.
The morning session will be focussed on Early Pregnancy Ultrasound. The afternoon sessions focusses on lung, renal and procedural ultrasound. A half day registration option is available for those interested in only one session.
*For O&G registrars undertaking the early pregnancy session only, evidence of completion of an online module in physics & knobology and basic scanning techniques will be accepted in lieu of a prior introductory ultrasound course.
